Field

Field was a pop-up space in Brixton Village as part of the Spacemakers programme – a scheme that enables artists to take over empty shop spaces. A group of independent creative businesses – led by Thinking Flowers – came together to develop set up an umbrella brand and physical environment where they would make and sell their work and also exhibit the work of other artists. Field was open from March – August 2010.
Bracket provided support on:
- Gathering team members ideas at the outset to develop a cohesive strategy and direction for Field and set up of the space (including social media strategy), informal partnership agreement and overall business plan
- Hands-on project management, identifying key areas and developing project plan to ensure project kept to timescale
- Setting up an online project space, which the team used to communicate at times suitable to them, reducing the need for meetings and increasing collaboration
- Facilitating meetings, capturing ideas generated and identifying actions to maximise on creative talent of all team members
- Working with individual team members on their own business needs and development for the space
