Workshop: Online tools for communication and collaboration
“Most creative businesses have an online presence to showcase their work, but increasingly there are more opportunities to use the web to communicate and create a dialogue with customers and other creative businesses. Furthermore, many of these tools are free! Social media such as online networks and blogs can be used for self-promotion. Other tools enable individuals to connect and collaborate with others. This session will cover some of the tools available and how to use them effectively in your practice, as well as discussing any issues that might arise and how to deal with them”.

Panel discussion: Online networking and the arts
“A look at the challenges and opportunities that social, creative and professional online networking sites hold for promoters and artists in performing arts.
The social networking sites of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and their professional and creative counterparts have been responsible for the communication phenomenon of recent times. The impact online networking has on the way we communicate has implications for all. How can the performing arts sector successfully navigate and capitalise on this ever evolving situation?”
